VC aspirants’ interview on Thursday
Mumbai:
The five final aspirants for Mumbai University’s vice-chancellor’s post will be interviewed by governor Ch Vidyasagar Rao on April 19.
Pro-vice-chancellor of Nagpur University
Pramod Yeole and Ramnarain Ruia College principal Suhas Pednekar are
the frontrunners. Three candidates–MU’s Garware Institute of Career
Education and Development director Anil Karnik, former vicechancellor of
Nagpur University VS Sapkal and Pravin Kondekar, an aspirant from Jabalpur–are also in the fray, said a source.
The names of the final candidates have not yet
been officially declared. The governor’s office sent out a mail on
Monday evening inviting the five candidates for the interview, said the
source. The names were shortlisted by a committee headed by scientist K
Kasturirangan. TNN
